Is 5'11.5" short for a man?

I'm 17 and most guys I know are taller, only like 20% of guys I see look shorter. This is my height though, I was measured at the doctor's office a week ago. And as for my friends, they are 6'1, 6'1.5, 6'3, 6'1, and 5'6. The 5'6 guy of course is considered short, but I've been grouped with him every so often as the shortest in our group. But, statistics say I'm like 78%, but it doesn't seem like it. So is it short because it feels like it a lot?
