What is the best analogy/metaphor for insomnia?

Just curious, the best I've come up with is "Insomnia is like having someone force you to sleep while that same person is electrocuting you" just wondering if anyone has anything better, and I know its an odd one, I have a habit of creating absurd metaphors such as "two eggs short of an omelette" to describe someone who's crazy etc.
