Am i legally married in texas? If my wife was already married in oklahoma?

I am trying to figure out if I am legally married. My wife was legally married in oklahoma and I didn't know but we married in Texas. When I call the vital statistics, they say we are married. But if someone is already married, wouldn't the 2nd marriage be void?
